London Bridge was a structure that crossed the River Thames.
History
In the 15th century, it had houses and shops on it, but these were gone by the 20th century. In 1400, it was adorned with the heads of the Duke of Huntingdon and the Duke of Gloucester. Someone had put an apple in the mouth of the latter. (AUDIO: The Doctor's Tale)
In 1605, the Eleventh Doctor retrieved a piece of fuse wire at the bottom of the bridge for Guy Fawkes as part of an errand to gain the trust of the plotters of the Gunpowder Plot. Later, Robert Catesby outlined the final preparations for the plot inside the Duck and Drake. At the same time, Amy Pond and Rory Williams found power rods for Lady Winters' ship on the bridge. (GAME: The Gunpowder Plot)
During the Glorious Revolution in November 1688, the Second Doctor, Jamie McCrimmon and Zoe Heriot passed under the original London Bridge in a boat with King James II. (AUDIO: The Glorious Revolution) His sixth incarnation later reminisced about this incident with Evelyn Smythe while fleeing from a Terravore in 2010. (AUDIO: The Crimes of Thomas Brewster)
The 1814 frost fair stretched from Blackfriars to London Bridge. (TV: Thin Ice) The Doctor arranged a birthday party for River Song under the London Bridge in 1814. Stevie Wonder sang for them. Given his blindness, Wonder was unaware that he had travelled in time. (TV: A Good Man Goes to War)
In 2005, Rose Tyler and Mickey Smith crossed the London Bridge by car, on their way from Southwark to Stoke Newington to visit Clive Finch on Juke Street. (PROSE: Rose)
London Bridge was seen on a map of London used during the Monk invasion of the late 2010s. (TV: The Lie of the Land)
Ram Singh and April MacLean breifly stopped in a bus stop in Hackney. A sign there showed that a service to London Bridge was delayed. (TV: Nightvisiting)
In the early morning of 19 August 2020, three Time Lords appeared by London Bridge, having came through the Time Fracture to the deserted London. They were some of several alien entries present in London on that morning, along with a Warrior Cyberman and a Dalek that appeared elsewhere in the city. The Time Lords were intercepted by military personnel along with the other aliens before any engagement with the civilian population could take place. (WC: 14683 UNIT Field Log)
