Maisie Elizabeth Hussain (née Thompson) was a human who encountered the Eleventh Doctor one Christmas Eve as a child.

Biography

When a Lengo appeared in Maisie's bedroom, the Doctor managed to send the creature back to its home planet through a wormhole. Maisie soon called upon the Doctor's help again, when her mother realised the Lengo had stolen some of their Christmas presents. Maisie accompanied the Doctor to Lengos Four, where she took pity on the creatures after learning of their solitary nature, deciding to let them keep one her presents.

Maisie encounters a Lengo. (PROSE: The Gift)

Thirty-four years later, the Doctor returned to Maisie, and took her, along with her husband and children back to Lengos Four, where the Lengos had since adopted their own Christmas-like festival, inspired by Maisie's previous act of kindness. (PROSE: The Gift)

Behind the scenes

The video reading of The Gift is accompanied by various illustrations from different artists, all of which offer different interpretations of Maisie's physical appearance.
