Cob-Commander Messothel was a Racnoss leader during the Racnoss Wars. He led the invasion of the Time Lord colony on the planet Trakkiney.
Messothel was known as a ruthless and vicious individual, even for one of his species. Messothel forced the Time Lords prisoners to eat Huon particle shakes and planned to make them into the first meal for young Racnoss hatchlings. Messothel's plan was thwarted by Fysus, who defeated the invading Racnoss and freed themselves with the help of the other imprisoned Time Lords. (PROSE: The Labyrinthine Web) A figure from an early Time Lord myth, it was unclear how much of Messothel's history as recounted in the myth was true. (PROSE: Introduction) The Gallifreyan people's early history was so distant and shrouded in mystery that later generations surmised some of their myths were in fact history, and some of their history was actually myth.
