Rebecca Root (born 10 May 1969[1]) voiced several characters for Big Finish Productions, including the Eighth Doctor's companion Tania Bell in the Stranded audio series and Cantico in the Gallifrey: Time War audio series.

Personal Life

Following Bethany Black and Adèle Anderson, she was one of the first openly trans actresses to play a role in Doctor Who. Root was noted in The Independent on Sunday's 'Rainbow List' of most influential openly LGBT+ individuals in 2014, being applauded for her role on Boy Meets Girl, becoming one of the first openly trans actresses "to have been cast in a mainstream TV show".[2]
