History

Turlough was accidentally struck by a carriage belonging to Jasper Jeake in early 18th century London. (AUDIO: Phantasmagoria)

Jeanne-Antoinette Poisson's body was carried to Paris in a hearse carriage when she died in 1764. (TV: The Girl in the Fireplace)

In 1869, the Ninth Doctor and Charles Dickens were involved in a carriage chase with Gabriel Sneed and Gwyneth after the latter pair kidnapped Rose Tyler. (TV: The Unquiet Dead)

In 1893, Strax had an extremely frustrating streak of carriage rides through Yorkshire, where he believed the horses pulling the carriages got lost. He executed three horses in a single week for their insubordination and nearly performed a fourth execution on another before a street urchin pointed out the way to Sweetville. (TV: The Crimson Horror)

In 1953, Queen Elizabeth II rode in a carriage during her coronation. (TV: The Idiot's Lantern)
