Mrs Hudson was the housekeeper of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. In 1887, she served the Seventh Doctor tea and Madeira cake at Holmes' residence. (PROSE: All-Consuming Fire)
Iris Wildthyme once held a party in Hobbe's End in 1972 which Mrs Hudson attended. (PROSE: From Wildthyme with Love) She was the mother of Jack Hudson and the employer of Gillian Petra while she impersonated Rose Donnelly. (PROSE: Erasing Sherlock)
Behind the scenes
Actor Una Stubbs played Mrs Hudson in Sherlock, a 2010 TV series created and executive produced by Doctor Who head writer and executive producer Steven Moffat and writer Mark Gatiss.
Actor Geraldine James played Mrs Hudson in the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes and the 2011 film Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
She has also been played by June Whitfield, Jenny Laird, Sarah Crowden, Barbara Leake, Margaret John and Beth Chalmers.
