Solomon (king)

King Solomon, also known as Solomon the Wise, was a monarch who, according to the Roman Gemellus, was the son of King David.

Jewish scholars believed that the Messiah would be a descendant of Solomon's, and would be born in Bethlehem. When Jesus of Nazareth fit this criteria, a small sub-sect of Judaism called Christianity was formed; they maintained that Jesus was the aforementioned Messiah, their saviour. (PROSE: Byzantium!
