Miranda Dawkins was the supreme ruler of the universe in the far future, and the Eighth Doctor's adopted daughter.

Biography

Miranda's father, the Emperor, was a Time Lord; the last survivor of a catastrophe that destroyed Gallifrey. On the night she was born, the Emperor was assassinated, and two members of the Imperial staff spirited the infant Miranda to Earth in the 1980s. They were discovered, and when her "parents" were killed by the rebels, the Eighth Doctor adopted her. (EDA: Father Time)

Miranda had at least one adventure with the Doctor during this time. (EDA: The Gallifrey Chronicles) The Doctor used to sing a song about windmills to her. (EDA: Grimm Reality)

The Doctor raised Miranda until she was sixteen, when the rebels returned to kill her as well. Miranda killed the leader of the rebels and fled the country. Three years later she was discovered again, but managed to reach an understanding with the rebels after she rejected her would-be captor's assertion that strength would always prevail. She returned to the future to inherit her title as "supreme ruler of the universe". (EDA: Father Time)

Before news of her coronation had time to spread, there were many attempts on her life. The commander of her forces, Prefect Ferran, at this time was plotting to use her bloodline to open the Librarinth. (Miranda)

Miranda returned to the Doctor's life once more many years later, with a daughter named Zezanne. She sacrificed herself to avoid being used as a hostage, saving the Doctor from sacrificing himself. (EDA: Sometime Never...)

Personality

Miranda was incredibly gifted compared to the humans on Earth she grew up with. She often had mood swings in her teenage years that caught the Doctor off guard. (EDA: Father Time)
