An Announcement from the Doctor was a webcast featuring the Eleventh Doctor that was released online on the day of the fiftieth anniversary of Doctor Who, tying in with The Day of the Doctor.


Summary

The Eleventh Doctor materialises his TARDIS against a starry sky. Opens the doors, he makes an unseen second party aware they are to be joining him on an adventure.

Story notes

  • The person that the Eleventh Doctor is speaking to is unseen, giving the illusion that he is talking to the viewer. Given the association of the webcast with The Day of the Doctor, it is possible that the scene depicts him recruiting one of his earlier selves to help with Gallifrey's final stand, although this is not explicit by any means.
