Doctor Who Magazine, originally published by Marvel UK and subsequently by Panini Comics, has featured an ongoing comic strip since its inception. A number of graphic novels, bringing together collections of its comic stories, have been released as standalone publications.

In 2010, BBC Books released The Only Good Dalek, a graphic novel featuring the Eleventh Doctor, with companion Amy Pond. In 2012, they released The Dalek Project, a graphic novel featuring the Eleventh Doctor solo. These are the only two of their kind, and are original, rather than reprints from DWM.

Marvel

Marvel UK published various graphic novels as special issues of Doctor Who Magazine, or in the case of Evening's Empire, as a special issue of Doctor Who Classic Comics. Abslom Daak - Dalek Killer was published as a trade paperback. All of the strips contained within the releases, minus The Dalek Chronicles, The Age of Chaos and Evening's Empire, have been digitally restored and republished within the Panini Graphic Novels.

Virgin

Though reprinting stories from DWM, The Mark of Mandragora was released by Virgin Publishing. All of the strips contained within have been digitally restored and republished within the Panini Graphic Novels.

Panini

Specifically titled Graphic Novels, these collections are published by Panini as trade paperbacks and include ISBNs. They feature digitally restored strips from throughout the entire history of the magazine.

Panini also published two Special Editions collecting a small number of comics, minus any bonus features. The strips contained within were republished within the Graphic Novels.

International editions

Conpart Verlag published a three volume German edition of Sixth Doctor comics in 1991.
