Biography
Early life
Lady Thalia (PROSE: Arc of Infinity [+]Loading...["Arc of Infinity (novelisation)"]) was, like all Time Lords, taken from her family at the age of eight and made to look into the Untempered Schism, which inspired her. (PROSE: A Brief History of Time Lords [+]Loading...["A Brief History of Time Lords (novel)"]) She became an expert on biodata (PROSE: Arc of Infinity [+]Loading...["Arc of Infinity (novelisation)"]) and anti-matter and believed that movement between dimensions was, whilst theoretically possible, unlikely, although she acknowledged that the same had once been thought about time travel.
Thalia was aware that the Fourth Doctor had been ordered to return Romana to Gallifrey and that he had failed to do so, something that made her doubt that the Doctor could be depended on. (TV: Arc of Infinity [+]Loading...["Arc of Infinity (TV story)"]) The Doctor knew of her field of expertise. (PROSE: Arc of Infinity [+]Loading...["Arc of Infinity (novelisation)"])
Chancellorship
Thalia, in the prime of her life, (PROSE: Arc of Infinity [+]Loading...["Arc of Infinity (novelisation)"]) served as Chancellor on the High Council of President Borusa, (TV: Arc of Infinity [+]Loading...["Arc of Infinity (TV story)"]) who had held the office in an earlier incarnation. (TV: The Invasion of Time [+]Loading...["The Invasion of Time (TV story)"]) She convened with Borusa, Hedin, Zorac and the Castellan following Omega's first attempt to bond with the Fifth Doctor and supported the suggestion that the Doctor be summoned to Gallifrey and executed so that billions of people might be saved. (TV: Arc of Infinity [+]Loading...["Arc of Infinity (TV story)"])
Although sorrowful, Thalia was determined on this course of action (PROSE: Arc of Infinity [+]Loading...["Arc of Infinity (novelisation)"]) and disagreed when Hedin suggested a postponement. She warned Nyssa to obey Borusa when she attempted to stop the execution and was later deceived into believing that Borusa was working with Omega and had rescued the Doctor. Once Hedin was exposed as Omega's ally, she suggested a pulse loop to distract Omega long enough for the Doctor to go after him unnoticed. With Borusa, Zorac, the Castellan and Damon, she watched as the Doctor kill Omega. (TV: Arc of Infinity [+]Loading...["Arc of Infinity (TV story)"])
Death
Thalia and Zorac (PROSE: A Brief History of Time Lords [+]Loading...["A Brief History of Time Lords (novel)"]) went into the Death Zone to investigate its reactivation and find out how it was draining energy from the Eye of Harmony. (TV: The Five Doctors [+]Loading...["The Five Doctors (TV story)"]) Moments after entering the zone, they were killed by bursts of psychic energy fired by Rassilon from the Matrix's astral plane. (PROSE: The Legacy of Gallifrey [+]Loading...["The Legacy of Gallifrey"])
