The 7th episode of Totally Doctor Who's first series premiered on the Thursday before the BBC One debut of The Idiot's Lantern. It featured Paul Kasey.

Paul (who is in costume) & Rob show off the Cyberman suit and explain how the were created.
Liz has checklist, and she & Barney tick off a corkscrew, some squishy fruit and some empty water bottles. They bring them to a table where Julie and the children are waiting. They explain that Julie has been showing the children how to create live sound effects in the studio. One of the children, Daniel has written a Doctor Who story which he then reads aloud, whilst other children make sound effects to go along with it.
Liz brings a video tape with an exclusive preview clip from The Idiot's Lantern which she plays in the VCR.
The Totally Filing Cabinet
Liz & Paul Kasey open the filing cabinet, the Radio Times (13-19 May 2006) issue sits on top, this weeks items were:
- a Doctor Who animation made by Lewis from Norwich, Norfolk.
- a Cyber family picture drawn by Carn, age 10.
- a Doctor Who wordsearch made by Joe from Maldon, Essex.
- a Cyberman picture drawn on the computer by William Hickey, age 9.
- a photo of cardboard Cyber helmets made by Tom & Emma from Stoke-on-Trent.
- a Cyberman picture drawn by Leanne Brian from Poole, Dorset.
Liz informs viewers that the people whose items were shown will receive a Totally Doctor Who mug, and that you can send in your items via post[1] or email.[2]
Viewer competition
Julie Ankerson offers viewers a TARDIS t-shirt and a Dalek keyring[3] as this weeks prizes.
To enter viewers have to watch TV: The Idiot's Lantern and answer the following question:
- What is the name of the biggest TV transmitter in North London, as featured in the Idiot's Lantern?
Entries had to be marked "Competition" and could posted[1] or emailed[2] in, but had to be received by 30 May 2006.
The previous week's competition winner is revealed to be Giverny Wright, from Tyne and Wear.
Who-Ru
This weeks Question Master is Paul Kasey and the prize is a photo of a Cyberman signed to the winner, both also get a CBBC goodie bag; the contenders are identical twins John & Jim McGovern.
The final scores are John 5 and Jim 5, which leads to a tiebreaker question.
- Tiebreaker question: "To the nearest number, how many operations has Cassandra had?"
Jim answers "101" and John answers "112". The correct answer is 708 meaning John is the closest and is crowned Who-Ru.
VT featurettes
Confidential: Radio Times cover shoot
Coverage of the Radio Times Series 2 cover shoot at HTV Studios in Culverhouse Cross, Cardiff, focusing on the two Cybermen covers - 13-19 May 2006 & 8-14 July 2006 (Version 2). Narrated by Liz.
Interestingly the featurette makes no effort to hide the Dalek Sec prop, which is clearly visible in several shots even though it wouldn't make its on-screen debut for another five weeks.

Foley studio
Liz visits Up4Loud Productions in Northchurch, Hertfordshire[4] to see how Doctor Who's sound effects are produced. She meets foley artists Alan Snelling, John Fewell and Julie Ankerson, who show her what they use to make the sound effects for the TARDIS floor & doors and the sonic screwdriver.
Liz and Julie then have a go at making the Cybermen footsteps sound effect, using a ticket machine and the leg from a suit of armour, syncing them to a clip from The Age of Steel; before recreating the TARDIS's crash landing from the beginning of Rise of the Cybermen.

Task 6: Stand Up for Yourself
The six remaining cadets must state their case for why they should remain in the academy.
- Kyra - because she put the wood together very accurately when building the models.
- Alex - because he sees it as being his ultimate dream and he will give it all his best.
- Louise - because although she looks quiet nervous, she never lets that stop her and always goes for everything.
- Chrissie - because even though she only put one foot onto the mat in the mousetrap game, she did all the other challenges, and she's being honest by pointing this out and asks the judges to keep her in.
- Adam - because he might do well on future challenges and the judges really like him.
- Jamie - because he did very well in the mousetrap game.
The judges choose to dismiss Adam from Companion Academy.
