The Shadow Squad was the third and final story in the audio anthology Forged in Fire, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by Andrew Smith and featured Jonathon Carley as the War Doctor, Adèle Anderson as Commodore Tamasan and Chris Jarman as Cardinal Rasmus.

Synopsis[[edit] | [edit source]]

Tamasan is unconvinced of the War Doctor’s loyalties, though when their paths collide, both agree that the destruction of the Dalek Time Strategist could be the best route to victory. But on Atherea, the Daleks may have found a way to annihilate all plans to defeat them before they are even begun…

Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • The Temporal Eradicator was a Dalek time engineer that became fractured across the Time Vortex, requiring a vortex stabiliser, but it constantly fades in and out of existence.
  • The Eradicator travels along timelines and assassinates over 100 individuals who would've caused Dalek defeats.
  • The Eradicator is kept within a time chamber where it finds time traces and sees alternate timelines. The War Doctor describes it as feeling "wrong."
  • The War Doctor removes the Eradicator's stabeliser, dispersing it across the Vortex before activating it's self-destruct so that it never existed.
