Silurian guns were capable of stunning their targets by interfering with their neural networks. These weapons were used by Horlak's tribe and carried by a number of scholars who served as guards. When Madame Vastra washed up on their island, a scholar used a blaster to stun her when she attempted to approach them. The Ninth Doctor explained to Vastra that these Silurians were under quarantine as carriers of Raldoma Syndrome, which was deadly to Vastra's caste. When Vastra was possessed by the Void, Rose Tyler used a gun to stun her, freeing her of the corruption. The Doctor then used his sonic screwdriver to convert the gun into a psionic dampener, freeing Jenny Flint and the other Silurians at the cost of burning out the gun's psychogenic sequencer. Horlak accepted the Doctor's request for another gun. (COMIC: The Lost Dimension [+]Loading...["The Lost Dimension (comic story)"])
