In January 2065, its captain sent out urgent calls for help upon encountering monster jellyfish (COMIC: Genesis of Evil) in the Pacific. (PROSE: Stingray Attacked!) As Marineville had lost contact with Stingray, they held out no hope for a rescue bid by that vessel. (COMIC: Genesis of Evil) When they re-established communications with Marineville, Stingray reported that they had reached S.A.3. but subsequently lost contact with the craft after being attacked by a Titan Terror Fish.
Commander Shore told reporters that the S.A.3. was the third carrier to have vanished in a month, and information about its disappearance was printed on the front page of TV Century 21 on 30 January. Later reports indicated that the submarine carrriers which had fallen under Titan's control were heading for the U.S. Western Seaboard in a direct line with Marineville, meaning an attack was imminent.
