TARDIS console (An Unearthly Child)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

The TARDIS control room first used by the First Doctor had a TARDIS control console, (TV: An Unearthly Child [+]Loading...["An Unearthly Child (TV story)"], et al.) the design known as the default console unit. (PROSE: TARDIS Type 40 Instruction Manual [+]Loading...["TARDIS Type 40 Instruction Manual (reference book)"]) The Monk's TARDIS (TV: The Time Meddler [+]Loading...["The Time Meddler (TV story)"]) Clara's TARDIS, (TV: Hell Bent [+]Loading...["Hell Bent (TV story)"]) and the Fugitive Doctor's TARDIS also used this type of console unit, with the Fugitive Doctor's TARDIS using it in a different design of TARDIS control room. (TV: Fugitive of the Judoon [+]Loading...["Fugitive of the Judoon (TV story)"])

During early parts of the Third Doctor's exile on Earth, he removed the console from the TARDIS into his lab in UNIT HQ, during which time it had a different time rotor than it had in earlier periods, but the same main console body. (TV: The Ambassadors of Death [+]Loading...["The Ambassadors of Death (TV story)"]) In his attempts to repair the console to escape his exile, the Doctor used it occasionally in isolation from the rest of the ship. During the Unzal Incursion he used it to transport himself, the Brigadier and Liz a short distance outside the HQ to escape soldiers controlled by the Unzal. (AUDIO: The Unzal Incursion [+]Loading...["The Unzal Incursion (audio story)"]) He later experimented on the console using the power from the Inferno Project, however he accidentally sent himself sideways in time into a parallel universe. Upon his return, the Doctor tried to use the console to leave Earth in the belief he’d got it working, however only succeeded in travelling a short distance to the nearby rubbish tip. (TV: Inferno [+]Loading...["Inferno (TV story)"])

After more of the Doctor's tinkering to restore his TARDIS, he ended up using a different console as he began to get the ship working again. (TV: The Claws of Axos [+]Loading...["The Claws of Axos (TV story)"], Colony in Space [+]Loading...["Colony in Space (TV story)"], et al.) However, some accounts showed the Doctor continuing to use a console with these controls as he began travelling in his TARDIS again. (COMIC: Gemini Plan [+]Loading...["Gemini Plan (TV Action comic story)"], The Vogan Slaves [+]Loading...["The Vogan Slaves (comic story)"])

A more colourful version of this console, with nearly the exact same controls, was used by one Ninth Doctor and his equivalent Master. (TV: The Curse of Fatal Death [+]Loading...["The Curse of Fatal Death (TV story)"])

Every button on the controls had their own purpose. (PROSE: TARDIS Console [+]Loading...["TARDIS Console (DWM 79 feature)"])

The Sixth Doctor once went back in time and installed a button on this console for the Fourth Doctor to use to stop a pandimensional entity. (WC: Doctors Assemble!)
