Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Early life[[edit] | [edit source]]

At the age of seven, she lost her mother to a disease, after which she was effectively raised by babysitters and nannies due to her father's obsession with his career. (PROSE: The Door We Forgot [+]Loading...["The Door We Forgot (short story)"])

Before she became a field agent of the Preternatural Research Bureau, Tasha used to work in Digitisation because her father got her a job there. (AUDIO: 9 to 5 [+]Loading...["9 to 5 (BBV audio story)"])

As a P.R.O.B.E. operative[[edit] | [edit source]]

By 8 March 2018, Tasha was an established P.R.O.B.E. operative. She insisted that she could hold the fort while P.R.O.B.E. director Giles and Archie MacTavish were both in Scotland. (HOMEVID: Kelpie [+]Loading...["Kelpie (home video)"])

She once performed an exorcism in an abandoned church somewhere in the London area, and was covertly filmed by a member of the public, with the blurry footage going on to emerge on Facebook until Giles took notice on 23 April 2018 and had Maxie Masters delete it. (WC: Peckham Poltergeist [+]Loading...["Peckham Poltergeist (webcast)"])

When Archie MacTavish died later in 2018, Tasha and Maxie took it in turns to buy Giles breakfast because they were worried about him. (WC: Manchester [+]Loading...["Manchester (webcast)"])

Giles suspected Tasha had something to do with Sir Andrew letting him withdraw his notice after Stacey Facade turned out to be an alien who seduced him. (WC: Stacey Facade [+]Loading...["Stacey Facade (webcast)"]) Some months after the Stacey Face incident, Tasha hit another rocky patch with her father and tried to get Giles's advice on the situation, staying at HQ after hours to discuss it with him. He ended the conversation, however, when she tried to ask him if he had any family of his own. Leaving, she decided to drop in on her father in person.

Two months later, while P.R.O.B.E. was investigating the organisation Beltane, Tasha helped Bedevere transport a Beltane agent he had taken prisoner back to P.R.O.B.E. HQ. There, Tasha was eager to interrogate her, although Giles gently but firmly reminded her that they "weren't the mafia" and that she was simply to ask the prisoner some questions, not do anything more coercive. Despite this promise, the woman swallowed a poison capsule to avoid interrogation; P.R.O.B.E. would later discover that Beltane had been a death cult of sorts, its members having planned to destroy all of London in a fire with no intention of leaving the city when that plan came to fruition.

After Giles discovered a second lead on the Beltane case with Maxie, namely another potential member, Jonathan, Tasha searched his apartment and indeed found much evidence of Beltane's activities, and information on their plans. Phoning Giles, who was by then in hot pursuit of the man himself alongside Harriet King, Tasha informed him that Beltane's plans seemed to centre on Modernex Labs. She joined him there with Bedevere; Giles hurriedly introduced Harriet as his niece, sparking mild resentment at Giles from Tasha for having dodged his question earlier when he clearly did have family. In a subsequent shootout between the four of them and four Beltane members including Jonathan, Tasha's shoulder was wounded, necessitating that Bedevere call an ambulance for her (despite his lack of familiarity with phones) while Giles and Harriet chased a surviving Beltane agent to the roof of the building. (AUDIO: Broken Bonds [+]Loading...["Broken Bonds (audio story)"])

In April 2019, the P.R.O.B.E. team, Maxie excepted, were lured to St Thomas's Chapel where they were faced with a huge, looming, but ultimately harmless crowd of Shadow People, eventually being forced to leave without answers or a solution after wasting time and energy chasing the insubstantial beings. Giles and Tasha were still looking over their shoulders nervously on the way home. On 9 May, the full team investigated reports of a ghost at the London Palladium, which turned out to have been temporal visions transmitted by an Artari Time Projector; what should have been a straightforward case was made more unsettling by several further sightings of the Shadow People. In June 2019, Tasha was sent to an airport to retrieve a high-security parcel which was being sent to P.R.O.B.E. by their American counterparts, the J.D.S.. This proved more challenging than expected when she found that the plane had been cordoned off due to being treated as a murder scene, as, during flight, the co-pilot had peeked at the contents of the package and been killed by it for his trouble. However, she did manage to bring the object back to P.R.O.B.E. HQ, where the box was opened in the presence of the rest of the team, and turned out to contain the shapeshifting, mythical weapon Varunastra. (WC: Varunastra [+]Loading...["Varunastra (webcast)"])

Prior to 12 September 2019, Tasha's contact informed her of occultists at Hanson's Solicitors. On 12 September, as Giles was recording a case file, she honked the horn of the car she was driving to beckon Giles to wrap up what he was doing. (WC: Out of the Shadows [+]Loading...["Out of the Shadows (webcast)"])

In November 2019, Tasha joined the rest of the P.R.O.B.E. team in a mission to investigate Bildbriain Dairies. After CEO Henry Bildbriain revealed that he was in fact an alien entity known as the Greth and regained its true form, Tasha immediately shot it, with no visible effect. She then tried to run for the door, which the Greth had already locked, resulting in it capturing her and using one of its abilities to render her unconscious. The Greth later did the same to all of the team save for Maxie, and Tasha awakened with the others once the Greth was defeated. (PROSE: Out of the Box [+]Loading...["Out of the Box (short story)"])

Between 23 November and 25 November 2020, after P.R.O.B.E. HQ's electronics were fried by a cursed DVD which Giles had been tricked into purchasing on eBay, Giles gathered the whole team save for Maxie and took them to a site in Bedfordshire, to which they had traced the seller. However, when they returned, they discovered that this had been a trick, with the villain sending them on a wild goose chase while he ransacked HQ to steal a Nolvox control node. On 13 February 2021, Giles recounted to the team a brief encounter with Sir Andrew, and his difficulty in interpreting whether the older man had been trying to covertly pressure him to drop his current line of investigation (which seemed to involve a secret kept by the government), or if he was in fact trying to hint for Giles to carry on with it even though he could not openly discuss it with him. Tasha told Giles that her father was frequently this hard to read, even during unimportant conversations at home; she promised to try and speak with him to get some clarity. This proved unnecessary, however, as Giles ended up tracing the mystery to its source on his own. (HOMEVID: Fog [+]Loading...["Fog (home video)"])

When Sir Andrew Williams left Giles a fairly tetchy message criticising him for the lack of concision in his case files, he nevertheless ended the message with a more amicable "Take care of Tasha for me". (HOMEVID: A Message From Sir Andrew [+]Loading...["A Message From Sir Andrew (home video)"])

On 28 March 2021, when Maxie's time detector allowed P.R.O.B.E. to discover that Faction Paradox members were performing a ritual across London, Giles attempted to send Tasha out into the field to investigate. However, the Faction then rewrote time to prevent P.R.O.B.E. ever having found out about their presence. (HOMEVID: Daylight Savings [+]Loading...["Daylight Savings (home video)"])

On 4 April 2021, after Giles walked into HQ to find Maxie Masters unconscious on the floor, he immediately called the rest of the team in. He sent Tasha and Az to search Maxie's office for any clue as to what had happened to her, but they didn't find anything useful. Later, after Maxie became possessed by the Cyberon intelligence, Tasha and the rest of the team chased her to a cavernous area beneath Clapham Junction, where they found a crashed Cyberon pod. After the Cyberon fluid released Maxie so it could inhabit and revive the pilot, the resurrected Cyberon attempted to choke out Tasha and Az, but Giles and Maxie managed to activate the ship's self-destruct, distracting and ultimately destroying the Cyberon while the P.R.O.B.E. members made their escape. On 8 May, Agamya's discovery of an old document dating back to his 2010 White House mission confronted Giles with the discrepancy between his recollection of meeting Barack Obama and the signature of the President of the United States on the paper, Felix Mather. With Giles and Agamya remembering Obama while Tasha and Az remember Mather, the team investigated the mystery of the two overlapping Presidencies and eventually tracked down Mather's last known residence, eventually discovering that the alteration to history was the work of a mysterious Faction.
