• The Apocalypse Element has Romana II as President of Gallifrey, as had previously been established in PROSE: Happy Endings
• The Shadow of the Scourge is explicitly set in the continuity of the New Adventures series and features Ace's Spacefleet combat outfit from PROSE: Deceit
• The Holy Terror features Frobisher, a Sixth Doctor companion who debuted in COMIC: The Shape Shifter.

• In Minuet in Hell, Gideon Crane recalls among the Doctor's former companions Sam, from the BBC Eighth Doctor Adventures series.
• Dust Breeding is a sequel to PROSE: Storm Harvest.

2002

• The Ratings War brought the character of Beep the Meep to audio, having made his debut in COMIC: Doctor Who and the Star Beast.
• The Maltese Penguin sees the return of Frobisher and the first appearance of Josiah W. Dogbolter on audio, having first appeared in COMIC: The Moderator

• No Place Like Home is the first appearance of the Everlasting Matches in audio, having first appearanced in PROSE: Doctor Who in an Exciting Adventure with the Daleks. It also features Shayde, who first featured in COMIC: The Tides of Time.
• The Dark Flame is explicitly set in the continuity of the New Adventures series and features Joseph from PROSE: Oh No It Isn't!.
• Zagreus contains several references to other media:

• In Home Truths, Robert from PROSE: The Little Drummer Boy is mentioned.

• Resistance continues the use of Polly's surname as "Wright" introduced in PROSE: Invasion of the Cat-People and also features her uncle Randolph Wright, first mentioned in that novel.
• In The Drowned World, Robert from PROSE: The Little Drummer Boy is mentioned yet again.
• Fitz's Story features Fitz Kreiner from the Eighth Doctor Adventures novel series.
• Izzy's Story features DWM comic companion Izzy Sinclair who debuted in COMIC: Endgame.

2010

• In The Guardian of the Solar System, the visit to Mars in PROSE: The Little Drummer Boy is mentioned.

2011

• A trilogy of stories, Castle of Fear, The Eternal Summer and Plague of the Daleks return to the DWM original location of Stockbridge. Additionally, Castle of Fear references Sir Justin of Wells from COMIC: The Tides of Time and Eternal Summer features Maxwell Edison, a recurring character who debuted in COMIC: Stars Fell on Stockbridge.

2012

• The Selachian Gambit features the Selachians, who had previously appeared in PROSE: The Murder Game and makes very vague allusions to the fact Ben and Polly had encountered Selachians before.
• Love and War is an adaptation of New Adventures novel.

2013

• Mastermind references the events of PROSE: Forgotten and refers the the Deathworm Morphant, merging the names gives in PROSE: The Eight Doctors and COMIC: The Fallen.

2014

• The Highest Science is an adaptation of New Adventures novel.
• In The Death of Hope, the Master refers to the fact he was once known as a Preacher, referring to the events of COMIC: The Fallen and The Glorious Dead.

2015

• The Romance of Crime, The English Way of Death and The Well-Mannered War are adaptations of Missing Adventures novels.
• Damaged Goods, Theatre of War and All-Consuming Fire are adaptations of New Adventures novels.

2016

• Nightshade and Original Sin are adaptations of New Adventures novels.
• Cold Fusion is an adaptation of a Missing Adventures novel.
• Lost and Found references Randolph Wright from PROSE: Invasion of the Cat-People and is inspired by a line from the story about Polly getting lost in a mall.
• In The Age of Endurance, the First Doctor references an encounter with the Pied Piper, an apparent reference to COMIC: Challenge of the Piper.

• In The Movellan Grave, the Doctor uses his Gladstone bag, which first appeared in COMIC: Shark Bait.

2018

• The boxset 'The Seventh Doctor: The New Adventures: Volume One features New Adventures companions Roz Forrester and Chris Cwej.
• The Quantum Possibility Engine feautures the return of Josiah W. Dogbolter and the debut of his robot servant Hob, both of whom originated in the Doctor Who Magazine (special issues).

2019

• Doctor Who and the Iron Legion and Doctor Who and the Star Beast are adaptations of DWM comic stories.
• Planet of Dust refers to the Tzun from PROSE: First Frontier.

2020

• In 2020, Big Finish released six audios to tie-in to the multi-platform series Time Lord Victorious, including Master Thief, Lesser Evils, He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not, The Enemy of My Enemy, Mutually Assured Destruction and Genetics of the Daleks. Across audios, novels, short stories, comics, escape rooms and web video series, a consistent and sprawling narrative was told for several different Doctors and several other characters.

2021

• A seventh audio was released as part of the multi-platform Time Lord Victorious series in 2021: Echoes of Extinction.
• [[Mark Seven, who first appeared in The Dalek Outer Space Book, featured in Queen of the Mechonoids and the Dalek Universe series, having previously appeared in The Destroyers, originally intended for television.

2023

• Big Finish released AUDIO: Dying Hours as part of the multi-platform Doom's Day (series), which told a linear story across novels, comics, audios, video games and short stories.

• Archipelago features The Doctor's Gladstone bag, as well as referencing John and Gillian, all of which originated in the TV Comics.
