Synopsis

The Doctors and his companions materialise in the middle of Children in Need...

Plot

22nd November 1985 : Children In Need host Terry Wogan and The Sky At Night presenter Patrick Moore walk over to a materialising Tardis, with Patrick asking the studio audience whether he should open the door, which they encourage him to do. Prior to him doing this the camera cuts to the audience and we see The Man In Blue [Andrew Ross Hay], my 2O year old self. Patrick Moore opens the door and we then see The Second Doctor Patrick Troughton emerge from the box in full costume blowing a party blower. Terry then begins to introduce a total of 20 Doctor Who stars who also emerge from the Tardis. Patrick Troughton is followed by Carole Ann Ford [Susan Foreman], Maureen O Brien [Vicki], Peter Purvis [Steven Taylor], Michael Craze [Ben Jackson], and Adrienne Hill [Katrina]. At this point Jon Pertwee [The Third Doctor] steps out carrying the beginnings of a very large cheque, which it takes several people to hold. These are Jon, Caroline John [Liz Shaw], Nicholas Courtney [Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart], Richard Franklin [Captain Mike Yates], John Levene [Sergeant Benton], Elisabeth Sladen [Sarah Jane Smith], Loiuse Jameson [Leela], Ian Marter [Harry Sullivan], and Peter Davison [The Fifth Doctor]. The cheque carriers end at this point. The last few to leave the Tardis are Janet Fielding [Tegan Jovanka], Mathew Waterhouse [Adric], Mark Strickson [Turlough], Nicola Bryant [Peri Brown], and Colin Baker [The Sixth Doctor]. As Colin presents a smaller version of the cheque for £1000 we cut back to the audience and The Man In Blue. Patrick Troughton then steps forward with a second cheque for £100 from The Doctor Who Appreciation Society. In character Jon then intervenes asking whether Patrick had said where the cheque came from. An in character argument then breaks out between Jon Pertwee, Patrick Troughton and Colin Baker, with Jon revealing that Patrick was told to say it came from one day's showing of the Doctor Who show in Blackpool. Colin Baker then looks to the audience asking "Who's that?" pointing directly toward The Man In Blue. Fed up of the arguing Terry Wogan gets into the Tardis and dematerialises. We then see the audience with The Man In Blue clapping, talking to his friend then looking round towards the camera.
