The Dalek Time Strategists were Daleks created by the Dalek Time Controller in Montmartre in 1921, using the minds of criminals that his "wife", Adelaine Dutemps, dealt with. Originally designed as the Time Controller's personal army of Daleks following his expulsion from the Dalek Empire (AUDIO: The Monster of Montmartre) due to his ability to exist outside of time, (AUDIO: The Traitor) a single Dalek Time Strategist was later created from the remains of Adelaine Dutemps, and went on to serve as one of the highest ranked Daleks during the Last Great Time War. (AUDIO: Eye of Darkness, The Shadow Vortex)

Biography

The Dalek Time Controller's army

The first Dalek Time Strategists were created in Montmartre, Paris in 1921, by the Dalek Time Controller and his "wife", the Dalek duplicate Adelaine Dutemps, by extrapolating the minds of various criminals that Adelaine worked with and placing them into Dalek casings. At the time that the Eighth Doctor and Liv Chenka discovered the Dalek Time Controller's plans, only a handful of Dalek Time Strategists had been created, and were in an incomplete state.

Following the arrival of the Reborn Master, (AUDIO: The Monster of Montmartre) the Dalek Time Strategists assisted the Dalek Time Controller and the Master in conquering the Earth, creating an alternate timeline where, by the year 1961, Earth had become a Dalek slave camp, with millions of humans, Sontarans and Draconians enslaved and converted into Daleks. When the Master betrayed the Dalek Time Controller by gaining control of 75% of the converted Daleks, the Time Controller escaped via the Doctor's TARDIS, leaving the Dalek Time Strategists to fight off the other Daleks and the Sontarans. (AUDIO: Master of the Daleks)

After the Dalek Time Controller became part of the Eminence, along with Professor Markus Schriver and Molly O'Sullivan, the Dalek Supreme commissioned the creation of a new Dalek Time Strategist, based on Adelaine Dutemps, (AUDIO: Eye of Darkness) who would go on to be a major figure in the Last Great Time War. (AUDIO: The Shadow Vortex et al)

The Last Great Time War

The Dalek Time Strategist informed the Dalek Emperor that there was a secret Time Lord base. It hoped that it could soon destroy Project Revenant. After the engine at the core was lost he devised a new strategy. (AUDIO: Desperate Measures)

When the War Master used the Anti-Genesis codes to replace Davros as the creator of the Daleks, the Time Strategist was able to avoid being erased from the timeline using a Dimension Ship. (AUDIO: Shockwave) He made contact with Template:Kisgart and worked together with him to undo the Masters actions in the primary universe. (AUDIO: He Who Wins)

Opposing the War Doctor

Later in the War, he sent Lara Zannis to Earth to capture the Shadow Vortex. The Strategist wanted to invade the Earth in order to destroy it and stop the Doctor from meeting his companions, hopefully erasing him from the timelines. (AUDIO: The Shadow Vortex)

The Strategist sent the Daleks to Rovidia to capture Cardinal Ollistra, intending to steal her knowledge of Time Lord secrets. The Sontaran Fesk tricked the Strategist into meeting him and took the Strategist prisoner, disarming him. The Strategist was placed with Ollistra where they talked about the starting of the War. In the chaos caused by the rescue attempt of Ollistra by the War Doctor, Heleyna and Kalan, the Strategist was recovered by the Daleks. (AUDIO: The Eternity Cage)

The Strategist ordered the destruction of the Rovidian fleet after the Doctor left the planet. The Strategist believed that the Doctor had given the Daleks the means to win the war. It used Heleyna to gain access to the Eye of Harmony chamber within Vassarian's Battle TARDIS. It planned to use the Dalek Time Squad to attack the Eye and cause it to collapse to destroy the Time Lords. The Doctor stopped his plan by destroying the Eye of Harmony Chamber. After the Battle TARDIS disappeared from the vortex he ordered that all the timelines be scoured to find the Doctor and destroy him. (AUDIO: Eye of Harmony)

The Time Strategist ordered the destruction of the space station the Doctor had landed on as a way to kill him. Later, after he had saw Schandel's news report on the Doctor he ordered the complete destruction of Beltox. (AUDIO: Pretty Lies)

Learning that the Doctor had gone to Grend he ordered the fleet to go there regardless of the threat at the Obsidian Nebula. He later ordered the destruction of Rosata Traxter's ship in order to destroy the Doctor. When this failed he ordered the search of the Obsidian Nebula for the Doctor. After one of the Dalek Scout drones disappeared, he went into the nebula. Skaul gave him an ultimatum; the Time Strategist decided to give him the coordinates of where they were heading as the Daleks had to go back to the Battle at Grend. When he realised that the Time Lords weren't originally supposed to be there, he ordered them to leave as his prime objective was now ready. (AUDIO: The Lady of Obsidian)

He went to a dimensional sphere to start his final plan. He had sent the Enigma to Gallifrey to destroy the Time Lords. When the Doctor took his TARDIS to the same dimension as him he thought it wasn't possible. He had threatened the Enigma to do his work. When the Daleks powered up their weapon to destroy the Enigma, he realised that the TARDIS was absorbing energy from it. (AUDIO: The Enigma Dimension)

Appearance

The original Dalek Time Strategists created by the Dalek Time Controller and Adelaine Dutemps resembled the standard silver Dalek drones in shape, but recoloured crimson red to resemble the walls of the Red Pagoda, their base in Paris on Earth during 1921. Notably, unlike the Dalek Time Controller, they did not possess a pair of rings crossing over an extended grating section, and the early models were incomplete, missing features such as the traditional manipulator arm. (AUDIO: The Monster of Montmartre)

The Dalek Time Strategist active during the Last Great Time War possessed a casing similar to the upgraded Supreme Daleks of the Second Dalek War, (AUDIO: Out of Time) the Supreme Daleks of the Time War, (COMIC: Ambush) the Supreme Dalek of the New Dalek Empire, (TV: The Stolen Earth / Journey's End) and the Supreme Dalek who controlled the Dalek City on Skaro, (TV: The Magician's Apprentice / The Witch's Familiar) albeit coloured purple where the Supreme Daleks were coloured red. Similarly to the Dalek Time Controller, the Time Vortex was visible inside its extended grating section, which also featured the Time Controller's rings. In addition, the Dalek Time Strategist possessed a calmer voice than regular Daleks, though in a deeper pitch, similarly to the later Supreme Daleks. (AUDIO: The Enigma Dimension)
