In a famous black-and-white horror film about vampires, (HOMEVID: Living Fiction) Nosferatu, (PROSE: Vampire Science) one scene saw a woman with black hair sleeping in her bed in a white nightgown when the vampire antagonist of the film snuck his way into the room in the form of a shadow, causing the woman to awaken in a kind of trance. Behind the scenes

Ellen Hutter is a character in F. W. Murnau's Nosferatu. Nosferatu transposed the broad lines of the plot of Bram Stoker's Dracula to Germany (instead of England), with many characters being renamed, direct counterparts to individuals from Stoker's book; as such, Ellen Hutter was the replacement of Mina Harker.
