References
- The Funhouse drifts through deep space in the form of an abandoned country house. Its many illusions include a tropical beach, a man reading in a dimensionally-warped drawing room, an imprisoned Peri, and a pit of airborne demonic creatures.
- The Doctor feels the attack upon the TARDIS in the form of a migraine.
- In desperation, the Doctor attacks the Funhouse's tentacles with an axe.
- The TARDIS circut boards responsible for maintaining the temporal stability of passengers in flight is deliberately sabotaged to fight against the Funhouse.
Notes
- This story was published in both Doctor Who Magazine and Doctor Who Marvel Adventure Comic. In the latter, the Doctor is not shown to regress and thus his former selves do not appear.
- While technically the first appearance of Peri Brown in the comics, the Doctor's real companion wouldn't appear until COMIC: Kane's Story. Peri greets the Doctor, after an extended absence from the TARDIS, having quit her job in New York City, 1985.
Continuity
- The Doctor rebuffs Frobisher for calling him "Doc". (TV: The Dalek Invasion of Earth, The Five Doctors, The Twin Dilemma, et al.)
- After his close brush with death through an illusory Peri, Frobisher is understandably a little wary to meet the genuine article in COMIC: Kane's Story.
- The Doctor's symbiotic link to the TARDIS leaves him and his vessel weakened by the Funhouse's assault. (TV: The Two Doctors)
- The Doctor and Frobisher use the Zero Room to shield themselves from the worst of the temporal regression aboard the TARDIS. (TV: Castrovalva)
- The hyperspatial stress of Terra Nova in PROSE: State of Change also causes the Doctor to go through a form of retro-regeneration. Unlike Frobisher, who begins as a bird and regresses into a hominid, Peri begins as a hominid and regresses into a bird. (TV: Vengeance on Varos)
- Frobisher reverts into a tall barbarian and a short, featureless humanoid with round glasses. (COMIC: War-Game, The Shape Shifter)
- Cast adrift from the TARDIS, the Funhouse is trapped within the time vortex without the means to leave it. (TV: The Enemy of the World)
- The TARDIS's escape from the Funhouse will have an unintended, but nevertheless, lasting impact on the galactic community in the 82nd century. (COMIC: Kane's Story, Abel's Story)
- The TARDIS would be similarly parasitised in AUDIO: The Chimes of Midnight.
