The sonic stake was a sonic device that Ikalla stated was an ancient Time Lord weapon.
The Ninth Doctor carried one around when he was on the planet Parvanna. When the two were attacked by a creature, the Doctor made the stake combust, in which the fire caused the creature of flee. (COMIC: Tales of the Dark Times)
