- 1 January - Big Finish Productions announced the casting of Michael Troughton as the Second Doctor, as well as the involvement of Frazer Hines as Jamie McCrimmon, in The Third Doctor Adventures release The Annihilators.
- 1 January - The BBC confirmed the return of the Sea Devils for the Spring special Legend of the Sea Devils.
- 6 January - Big Finish announced that Angela Bruce would be reprising the role of Brigadier Winifred Bambera in the UNIT audio series Brave New World.
