Dances
Strictly Come Dancing has featured Doctor Who themed dances on three occasions:
- In 2015, Jay McGuiness danced in character as the Eleventh Doctor with Aliona Vilani to Dr Jazz by Jelly Roll Morton.
- In 2018, Stacey Dooley danced in character as the Thirteenth Doctor with Kevin Clifton as a Cyberman to an original version of the Doctor Who theme.
- In 2022, Tyler West danced in character as the Doctor with Dianne Buswell as a Weeping Angel to the Doctor Who theme by Segun Akinola in a special episode featuring various BBC theme tunes to commemorate the BBC’s centenary.
Other matters
- In Dermot and the Doctor, the Doctor's TARDIS briefly appears backstage on Strictly Come Dancing in the year 2111. There, Dermot O'Leary finds that Bruce Forsyth is "still here".
- The episode playing on Clara's television in The Time of the Doctor appears to be the 2012 Christmas Special. Though unnamed, professional dancer Ola Jordan and her celebrity partner JB Gill are briefly seen on screen.
- In How to Win Planets and Influence People, the Monk states that he once appeared on "that dancing show". When he says it, tango music plays, a clear reference to Strictly Come Dancing. The Fourth Doctor later told him that he voted for him.
- Monk actor Rufus Hound did in fact dance the tango in the 2013 Strictly Christmas special, which he won. Other Strictly contestants with Doctor Who connections include Lynda Bellingham, Mark Benton, Colin Salmon, Verona Joseph, Will Thorp, Felicity Kendal, Zoe Ball, Matt di Angelo, Don Warrington, Davood Ghadami, Sunetra Sarker, Natalie Gumede and Bill Bailey.
