Time Barrier Busted was a short story printed in TV Century 21 that contained elements from the Doctor Who universe. Framed as the front page of an in-universe periodical, the titular article instead made reference to the Fireball XL5 content in the issue with a smaller piece tying-in to the Lady Penelope comic story The Vanishing Ray, which was a crossover with the DWU.

- The "most fantastic" news ever to come from Space City has burst across headlines all over the world; Fireball XL5 has time travelled.
- How the time barrier was broken is not yet known but every scientist and space engineer in the world is attempting to find the answer.
- Steve Zodiac has accepted an invitation to visit the World Space Academy to give a lecture on space navigation.
- Three hundred gallons of cream has poured through the streets of Kahra as the cream, destined for the biggest cream bun in the universe, cascaded from the bun as it was lifted onto a truck. Officials were bothered by ten thousand cats who raided the town for the cream.
- Lady Penelope has agreed to edit a new comic for girls. As well as featuring her own adventures, it will also report on the Man from U.N.C.L.E., Beverly Hillbillies, Bewitched, and a regular fashion page.
- The new look TV 21 will feature the "hilarious adventures" of Maxie Smart, a news page on 2066, and an extra page for Agent Twenty One's missions.
- An accompanying photograph depicts Fireball Junior landing at the White House in Washington.

- This story is another crossover with Fireball XL5, Lady Penelope and Stingray. It also contained brief but licensed references to the events of The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Beverly Hillbillies, Bewitched and Get Smart.
