Marcus Reid
Corporal Marcus Reid was a trooper on Világ.
He and Princess Krisztina of Galen knew each other since they were young, and were in love with each other.
Marcus was the son of a gardener. Feeling that something would always have stopped him and Krisztina from being together because of their vastly different social positions, he ran away and joined the Galen Army. The two lovers would not see each other for five years after that.
Reid was assigned to guard Krisztina during the procession during which her arranged marriage to Prince Viktor of Malendia would be announced. After the Sixth Doctor changed history by convincing Reid to try to stay in a relationship with Krisztina, the Doctor and Evelyn Smythe helped establish a secret correspondence between them, carrying letters and arranging for Reid to be a part of the palace guard. He also received an award from Krisztina for bravery, which allowed the two to meet in person for a short time.
When Plenipotentiary Suskind revealed that Krisztina and Reid were secretly in love, war broke out again between Malendia and Galen, and Reid was sent to the front lines.
