The Alps was a European mountain range.

Geography =

Early history

Around 200 BC, (AUDIO: Ancient History ^[+]Loading...["Ancient History (audio story)"]) the Doctor accompanied Hannibal as he crossed the Alps (PROSE: Shadowmind ^[+]Loading...["Shadowmind (novel)"]) with several pachyderm roboforms from the Loxodon nebula, which the Doctor told Hannibal were elephants — alongside 10 children and a nun. (AUDIO: Ancient History ^[+]Loading...["Ancient History (audio story)"]) To cross the mountains, Hannibal used vinegar to dissolve boulders.
