Doorway to Hell (comic story)
Doorway to Hell was a comic story published in Doctor Who Magazine in 2017, ending the ongoing arc the Doctor living with the Collins family in the early 1970s while his TARDIS repaired itself following a system overload.
It was notable for including Roger Delgado's incarnation of the Master, and featured the beginnings of his regeneration at the end of the story. This "plugging" of a hole in the Master's timeline notably conflicted with the version of the Delgado Master's demise featured in the earlier novel, Legacy of the Daleks, as well as supported the account suggested in the previous year's Big Finish Productions's so-called "multi-Master trilogy", which introduced a post-Delgado incarnation of the Master, played by Geoffrey Beevers, who was later burnt by his future self.
Doorway to Hell also made another addition to fundamental Doctor Who lore in confirming, from the mouth of the Master himself, that TARDISes' ability to repair themselves with a new appearance following great trauma was, in fact, a form of regeneration in its own right.
