The Breach[[edit] | [edit source]]
In their record of Dalek activity in linear history, the Time Lords indicated that the Dalek in question was active in the "far future", the time of the New Dalek Paradigm following the pre-Time War Hand of Omega Incident, which itself followed the 47th century Necros Incident. (PROSE: Dalek Combat Training Manual)
Having been made aware that the Silence had arranged for him to be killed in a fixed point in time at Lake Silencio on 22 April 2011, the Eleventh Doctor embarked on a farewell tour before proceeding to find out the Silence's motives for engineering his death. The Doctor confronted a damaged New Paradigm Supreme Dalek, (TV: The Wedding of River Song) a subordinate to the original white Supreme Dalek, (PROSE: Dalek: The Astounding Untold History of the Greatest Enemies of the Universe) to provide him with information about the Silence, doing so by using his sonic screwdriver to access the Dalek's personal data core, located within its casing, to learn "everything the Daleks know about the Silence". (TV: The Wedding of River Song)
Imagine you were dying. Imagine you were afraid and a long way from home and in terrible pain. Just when you thought it couldn't get worse, you looked up and saw the face of the devil himself. Hello, Dalek.
Aftermath and legacy[[edit] | [edit source]]
The Doctor then went to the docks of Calisto B where he used the Dalek eyepiece to convince a barman to fetch Father Gideon Vandaleur, the former envoy of the Silence. Aware that what appeared to be Vandaleur was the Teselecta in disguise, the Doctor asked the captain of the vessel for the Silence's weakest link, leading him to Gantok who himself led the Doctor to Dorium Maldovar, who explained that the Silence wished to avert the Doctor's future concerning Trenzalore and the fall of the Eleventh. The Doctor was convinced to stop running upon learning of the death of the Brigadier, but ultimately eluded his own death at Lake Silencio by using the Teselecta to appear as himself. (TV: The Wedding of River Song)
For the Daleks, the breach was followed by the Asylum Incident, (PROSE: Dalek Combat Training Manual) in which the Dalek Asylum was destroyed. By that point, one of the Dalek residents was a Supreme Dalek without its eyestalk and the same battle damages. (TV: Asylum of the Daleks)
Later, when embroiled in the Master's Dalek Plan, the Thirteenth Doctor used an extraction device to acquire data from the casing of the Spy Dalek. In this instance, however, the Dalek gave its consent for the Doctor to take the data, only to be intercepted and exterminated on the order of a Dalek Commander. (TV: The Power of the Doctor)
