2030 was the year several events of importance to the history of Earth occurred:

• The River Thames was artificially frozen for a Dancing On Ice special. This was the first time the Thames had frozen since February 1814. (WC: The Frozen)

• The Seventh Doctor, Ace and Bernice Summerfield visited UNIT Geneva and picked up a note from Cristian Alvarez, left for them thirty-seven years before. (NA: The Left-Handed Hummingbird)

• The mountain gorilla died out on Earth. However, one specimen was taken to the Museum of the Last Ones. This last mountain gorilla was later sent back in time by the Tenth Doctor, along with the other specimens. (NSA: The Last Dodo)
