In an alternate timeline in which Nazi Germany won World War II as a result of the Seventh Doctor and Ace accidentally leaving laser technology in Colditz Castle in October 1944, the Nazi scientists were able to refine uranium and create nuclear weapons. In Roma I, Manhattan was discovered during the reign of Romulus Augustus. By the 19th century, the island housed the villa of Marcus Americanius Scriptor's family. It contained a central park, a building which was once the tallest in the world, and a number of renowned galleries. Jupiter Libertatis was on an island south of the villa. It was in the Times Square of the New York one of the realities within the 10,000 Dawns, on Christmas Eve 2460, that Graelyn Scythes and Archimedes Von Ahnerabe confronted Artillo Brinzo. They were surprised to see it empty, especially on Christmas Eve, except for themselves and their quarry; this was an early step in their gradual realisation that nearly the entire population of the 10,000 Dawns had been abducted out of time and space by the painted warriors.
