The following list of cliffhangers gives a brief summary of each prose cliffhanger.

- A Meeting on the Common (1) - Ian faints as the Doctor declares that he will have to abduct him and Barbara.
- Prisoners in Space (2) - The Doctor, Ian, Barbara, and Susan step out onto the surface of an alien world.
- The Dead Planet (3) - Susan screams that there is "something out there" in the petrified jungle.
- The Power of the Daleks (4) - The Daleks paralyse Ian's legs.
- Escape into Danger (5) - The Doctor, Barbara, Susan, and Ian, the latter disguised as a Dalek, are confronted by a real Dalek.

- 6 - The Doctor realises that "Amy Pond" is a disguised aspect of the Kin, and begs it to tell him the real Amy is safe. However, the Amy Pond Kin, with sadistic glee, informs him that she is not.
