The Eight Truths (audio story)
The Eight Truths was the seventh story in the third series of the Eighth Doctor Adventures, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by Eddie Robson and featured Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor and Sheridan Smith as Lucie Miller.
This is the first story to feature the Eight Legs since the 1999 short story Return of the Spiders. They were first introduced in Jon Pertwee's final Doctor Who television story, Planet of the Spiders, broadcast in 1974.
The story continues in Worldwide Web.
Publisher's summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
London, 2015. The Doctor's looking for a lost space probe. Lucie Miller's feeling just plain lost, on a world she no longer quite belongs to.
Perhaps there's someone who can help. A chance encounter with an old sparring partner leads Lucie to the Eightfold Truth — a bunch of crystal-bearing cranks who reckon a rebel sun is on its way to purge the Earth. As if!
But what if they're right?
The apocalypse is upon us. As humankind counts down the last days of its existence, the Doctor races to unmask the Eightfold Truth — and uncovers an old and deadly enemy.

- Although the story description and the textless cover art give a date of 2015, the newspaper on the finished cover has the date 9 November 2012.
- The story begins on 21 October 2015. This is the same future date to which Marty McFly and Doc Brown travelled in the 1989 film Back to the Future Part II.

- The story was initially released as a download on the Big Finish website on 30 May and 6 June 2009.
