Horlak's tribe were a tribe of Silurians led by Horlak. They carried Raldoma Syndrome, a virus harmless to their own subspecies, but deadly to 99% of other Silurians, including Vastra's caste. As the leader of the tribe, Horlak sat alongside Silurians distinguished by their carapaces and the placement of the third eye atop their heads. Silurians without carapaces, whose third eyes were embedded into their foreheads, stood guard on their island with Silurian guns.
