Iapetus was a Titan in Greek mythology. (PROSE: Fallen Gods)
In one story, Iapetus encountered a Deindum, a great lizard, who defied the Titans. The two fought until Iapetus changed into a bird and let the Deindum swallow him whole. Iapetus then ate the Deindum from the inside out. (PROSE: The End Times)
