Official Secrets was the third story in the Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor comic series, published in 2016.

Welcome back to the 70s (or is it the 80s?)! The Doctor becomes entangled once more with the forces of UNIT when a cache of potentially devastating top secret material is leaked to the media. But does the UNIT whistleblower have a point? Alien invasion and internecine intrigue combine in an explosive new story!

- Jack finds a picture of himself dressed as a 17th century priest among the UNIT files.

- As a reference to the UNIT dating controversy, the exact timeframe of the story is never revealed, with the Doctor musing that it is either the 1970s or the 1980s.
- This is the first licensed story that features the Ninth Doctor and Brigadier meeting. It was previously established that, like every other incarnation of the Doctor, the Ninth would be present for the Brigadier's funeral. (PROSE: Shroud of Sorrow) The Ninth Doctor would later meet the Brigadier in AUDIO: Way of the Burryman and The Forth Generation.
- Soldiers are wearing digital camouflage pattern uniforms that started in usage in 2000s.

- The Bad Wolf meme can be seen on Tara Mishra's shirt. (TV: Bad Wolf)
- Sergeant Benton is confused when Jack uses the word "Unified" in UNIT's title. The acronym originally stood for "United Nations Intelligence Task Force" but changed sometime before the 2009 Sontaran invasion. (TV: The Sontaran Stratagem)
- This story takes place immediately after COMIC: The Transformed.
- The Doctor complains that Harry Sullivan has created another weapon. Previously, Harry created a gas poisonous to Zygons. (TV: Terror of the Zygons)
- The Doctor and Jack recount the last time they met a child with special powers who couldn't find their parents. (TV: The Empty Child / The Doctor Dances)
- The Brig remarks that this Doctor has a Northern accent. (TV: Rose)
- The Doctor is ignorant of the fact that he is technically on UNIT's payroll. (TV: Death in Heaven)
