Aphra Behn (born Aphra Johnson, nicknamed Eff, codename Astrea) was a playwright and spy for the Service in the 17th century. Her number within the Service was 160.

Biography[[edit] | edit source]

As a child, Aphra pledged herself to Larissa and dreamt of a far-away land with a city she called "antic Jerusalem". When she grew older, she became a spy for Charles II in Antwerp before returning to England; her name in the Service was tarnished by this affair as well as her reputation as a spendthrift.

Sir Samuel Morland, sent her on assignment to Salomon's House, to keep an eye on a new philosopher called the Magus. Despite disguising herself as an associate of Charles Babbage, she was captured by Nick Plainsong, bound, gagged and thrown into a cell for hours before Larissa briefly appeared to ungag her and Nate Silver arrived to set her free. Assuming the lecture would be boring, she got drunk, passed out, and missed it; upon awakening, she was placed under arrest by Alex Bendo. However, with Larissa's help, she escaped and helped Silver flee from the Service.

Years later Bendo would order her to try and buy the Jesuitess from the House of the Infernal. The proprietor was unwilling to sell, but sold off the Jesuitess's shift instead. Behn took the shift home with her, prompting the Jesuitess to track her down once she had escaped, Bendo following them both. The Jesuitess then attacked Bendo, erasing him from reality with the continuity needle, and dove backwards into Behn's timeline to escape.

Behn would find herself in Paris some time later, delivering a message to le Pouvoir, and collecting the trussed up Nate Silver for the return trip to England. When she returned to England Larissa came to her, and the two tracked down Jeova Unus Sanctus, the man hiding Larissa's enemy within him.

Decades later, after Larissa had dispatched the crucified man, Nate Silver returned to Aphra Behn on the day of her death. (PROSE: Newtons Sleep [+]Loading...["Newtons Sleep (novel)"])
