Bethany Brown was supposed to go on a date with Julien but encountered the Ninth Doctor. She was running out of chances with The Matchmaker. After returning home from her date she didn't want to return to the dating scene immediately, but the matchmaker tried to attack her so she called the Doctor for help. She didn't want to be on dates because of what it came with as she was asexual. She later told the Doctor that she wasn't aromantic which hindered his plans.
