At some point, his grandmother told him of an encounter she had with the Ninth Doctor when she was a child in May 1945, where the Doctor reassured that it would be over tomorrow; (PROSE: Have You Seen This Man?) indeed the following day, Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel signed the documents of Germany's unconditional surrender, bringing Europe's involvement in World War II to an end.
