Bloomsbury Bunch

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

The Bloomsbury Bunch was a group active in Victorian London named after Bloomsbury, the district in which they were based. The group was comprised of Stonn — the leader — Tom Foster and Vella.

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

Origin[[edit] | [edit source]]

Stonn was exiled to Earth in the 19th century and became an entrepreneur in London. He met Vella after she was awoken from her hibernation by Queen Victoria unwittingly putting her trowel through a Silurian power line whilst building the Albert Memorial. Strangers to the human world, the two paired up. Tom Foster entered into a romantic relationship with Stonn and joined him and Vella after helping the Sontaran re-energise himself with a dynamo at the factory that he worked at one night. Foster & Stonn[[edit] | [edit source]]

Knowing that Tom wanted to be an artist and planning to bring him success as well as to make a profit, Stonn decided that they would capitalise on the spiritualist fad by forging spirit photographs. The two formed Foster & Stonn and Tom took photographs using a lens made of Malampus crystal which Stonn purchased from an alien in Cardiff. Tom used the lens to take photographs of the living as well as the dead; his storing of negatives for both kinds in the same place created the Revenants.

Stonn met Jenny Flint and Strax in the street and offered them a discount for a photograph at Foster & Stonn. Tom was deceived by her pretending to be a grieving woman until Stonn caught her snooping in the shop. Vella fought Vastra for a time before the Revenants attacked the shop, forcing the Bloomsbury Bunch and the Paternoster Gang to join forces against them. Vastra convinced Stonn to destroy the lens, which he had to persuade Tom to give to him, after which the Revenants were destroyed. To escape any repercussions, the Bloomsbury Bunch teleported away. Separate ways[[edit] | [edit source]]

Vella left her colleagues without much of an explanation. In her absence, Stonn continued with his dodgy dealings, selling faulty prognosticators and attempting to take control of the pigeons at St Paul's Cathedral to deliver letters and packages. He and Tom made a lot of money through parties purporting to be the unwrapping of genuine mummies.

Stonn and Strax were taken captive by Skark the Merciless to draw out Vastra and gain access to Anura's power. Tom teamed up with Jenny to locate them and, eventually, Skark was killed by Vastra, after which Stonn and Tom decided to leave London with data which could potentially lead them to Vella.
