Charles Legrane
Charles Legrane was the owner of a Monte Carlo casino.
In 2066, as part of his plan to rule the world, Mr Steelman broke the bank at the casino by controlling the roulette wheel with a magnetic bias, using one of his gynoids as the player. After two hours, Legrane had to close the casino after Steelman won all its cash. He contemplated suicide in his office, holding a gun to his head, but Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward convinced him not to by assuring him that the money had been stolen. She told him they could not report the crime to the police as the theft would never be proved but temporarily compensated him with a cheque for ten million francs while she tracked down the culprit. Later, after Mr Steelman had been caught and the money recovered, Lady Penelope had a gynoid gamble it all away. Legrane was delighted and, asking what he could do to thank Lady Penelope, was simply told to repay the money she had loaned him. (COMIC: The Great Silver Robbery!)
