Claude Portillon's wife

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Squire Claude Portillon of the 17th century English village of Tranchard's Fell had a wife.

She was sweet and lovely. People in the village adored her. She died of pox. As Agnes Bates, the village healer, was at the time already pregnant from the squire, the death was concealed from everybody until Agnes gave birth to twins, Lucern and Finicia. At this point, it was announced that the squire's wife died by childbirth. The villagers were upset by this announcement and blamed Agnes, who even had to leave the village for some time.
