Current history, or currently-valid history, was a term used in the study of Meta-History. It referred to the currently active version of history from one's own perspective, and was affected significantly by Major Space-Time Rewrites. (PROSE: Love & War [+]Loading...["Love & War (short story)"])

In her 2323 paper Love & War: A Meta-Historical Investigation of the Dawn of the Cosmic Revolution, Dr Olivia Kagg Waldermein stated that the supermassive black hole Sagittarius A* "now hovers menacingly at the legendary coordinates of the Gods' Base of Operations," the former home of the Lesser Time Elementals, "and, as far as current history is concerned, it always has." An ability once termed "history-proofing" by Faction Paradox Cousin Eliza (AUDIO: The Ship of a Billion Years [+]Loading...["The Ship of a Billion Years (audio story)"]) was present, to varying degrees, in many individuals; the ability enabled people to be able to perceive changes to history and to remember both the current version of history and previously rewritten versions. At the Battle of Demons Run, the Eleventh Doctor recalled having rebooted the universe, concluding that "technically" the first time Amy Pond and Rory Williams were on the TARDIS together in his current "version of reality" was on their wedding night. During the Last Great Time War, the Twelve observed that the Overseer's retroactive introduction of Ogrons into the Time Paradox Incident and Operation Divide and Conquer was now the established history as the Eighth Doctor remembered the Ogrons being present for those events whilst remaining aware that they were not present in the initial chain of events prior to the Overseer's interference.
