Louisa Pollard
Lady Louisa Pollard (née Saviltride) was the wife of Richard Pollard and mother of Peggy, Charley and Sissy Pollard.

On her sixteenth birthday, Louisa Saviltride (AUDIO: The Fall of the House of Pollard) was given a brooch by her mother, Ermentrude, which had been passed down the family. She later gave it to her second daughter, Charley. (AUDIO: Scherzo)
Louisa was a good friend of Lawrence and Mary Grainger. (PROSE: Forgotten) In 1906, Louisa and her husband Lord Richard attended a party, during which Mary was attacked by the Decayed Master whilst giving birth to her son, Edward. (PROSE: Prologue) In 1911, the Pollards and their daughter Peggy visited the Graingers for Christmas. (PROSE: Echoes)
Louisa's brother volunteered to serve in World War I solely to prove a point to their father. He became a lieutenant. (AUDIO: Memory Lane)
The Seventh Doctor informed Louisa and Richard that Charley had died in the R101 crash. (PROSE: The Heroine, the Hero and the Megalomaniac)
Louisa and Richard lost contact with Peggy after they were unable to afford her dowry. They also cut off contact with Sissy because of her pro-fascist views. (AUDIO: The Fall of the House of Pollard) By the time of her suicide, they had not spoken for years. (AUDIO: A Blind Eye)
Charley was briefly reunited with her parents in 1936. However, she was found and taken prisoner by the Viyrans, while her parents' memory of her ever existing was erased. (AUDIO: The Fall of the House of Pollard)

In a projection created by the Doctor's TARDIS, Louisa travelled out to Charley's finishing school and interrogated Miss Lime on the security and efficacy of their school. She revealed there that while often disapproving of Charley, Lady Pollard considered her an exceedingly capable woman. (AUDIO: Zagreus)
In an attempt to turn Charley against the Doctor, Rassilon and the Kro'ka used a hallucination of Louisa, with whom she encountered Simon Murchford. (AUDIO: The Next Life)

Louisa believed that reading a newspaper during a meal was impolite. (AUDIO: The Raincloud Man) She was wary of gypsies (AUDIO: Memory Lane) and disapproved of Sissy's fascist views. (AUDIO: A Blind Eye)
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
The main "gimmick" of this character's debut story, AUDIO: Zagreus, was that many of the characters who appeared were in fact holographic projections, taken partly from reality and partly from the memories of the Eighth Doctor, Charley Pollard and the TARDIS itself. This allowed many past Doctor and companion actors to take on roles other than their regular ones. Alan Barnes and Gary Russell conceived this idea because they believed that "conventional" multi-Doctor stories had exhausted their potential, but still knew they fans would desire one for the 40th anniversary. Lady Louisa Pollard was voiced by Anneke Wills, more famous amongst Doctor Who fans for voicing the companion of Polly Wright. This initially seemed to be, and was likely initially intended as, another example of this, which would also make Polly the earliest companion represented in the story. However, Wills continued to voice the character in subsequent appearances, even ones that did not feature any sort of "projection".
