GP's grandmother
The grandmother of GP worked as a secretary for Prime Minister Winston Churchill from 1940 to 1945. During that time, she saw the "tanks" Churchill called his "Ironsides".
On several occasions, the secretary also saw a large blue box, which she would later describe to her grandchild as looking like an oversized wardrobe with a light on top, materialize near the Prime Minister's office, remaining there for hours or days before disappearing without a trace. It returned occasionally, often with a slightly different external appearance than its previous visit. The secretary noted that the box's appearance often coincided with the appearance of strangers: a kind old man in a frock coat; a "dandy" in a velvet jacket; and a "dishy" young man in a bow tie accompanied by a young woman whom the grandmother would later claim to be the spitting image of the model in adverts for the perfume Petrichor.
When she became a grandmother, the woman told her grandchild GP about the Ironsides and the blue box. GP became a reader of the blog Into The Unknown when it was taken over by Professor Maxwell Grey. After writing an article about the Mandela Effect which mentioned the Ironsides, Grey republished an article from the original iteration of the blog about the anachronistic appearance of a British police box in Alabama. GP recognized a connection with their grandmother's stories and told the tale in the comments of the article, asking other readers for any information that could help substantiate the recollections.
