Game between the Toymaker and the Master
A game between the Toymaker and the Master was played when the Master was close to death, wanting an extension of his life to be his prize for winning.
History[[edit] | [edit source]]
The Fourteenth Doctor learned from the Toymaker that when the Master, (TV: The Giggle [+]Loading...["The Giggle (TV story)"]) whom the Thirteenth Doctor had last seen when his body began to fail after his theft of the Doctor's body was reversed, (TV: The Power of the Doctor [+]Loading...["The Power of the Doctor (TV story)"]) met the Toymaker while he was "dying". The Master begged for his life with "one final game". This was one of many games played by the Toymaker with the most powerful and infamous denizens of the Doctor's universe after he entered it (TV: The Giggle [+]Loading...["The Giggle (TV story)"]) thanks to the metaphysical significance of the Fourteenth Doctor invoking a salt-related superstition at the edge of the universe. (TV: Wild Blue Yonder [+]Loading...["Wild Blue Yonder (TV story)"]) The Master lost the game, like all of the Toymaker's other cited opponents. As his prize, the Toymaker sealed "sealed him for all eternity inside [his] gold tooth".
The Toymaker disclosed the Master's fate during his game of Cut with the Fourteenth Doctor. Later, the Toymaker was banished from existence after losing his game with the bi-generated Fourteenth and Fifteenth Doctors, resulting in the gold tooth being left behind and quickly claimed by a hand as the Masters' laughter emanated from it.
