According to one account, glitterguns were introduced during the First Cyber Wars of the 23rd century, which were eventually followed by a "second series of Cyber Wars", the Second Cyber Wars, which began when the Cybermen made a failed attempt to eliminate an Alliance conference by destroying Earth with a Cyber-bomb. The conflict ended with another defeat for the Cybermen, who unsuccessfully attempted to change the course of history before the Alliance launched a final attack on Telos. The work of natural historians who were allowed to study the monster information vaults of the Doctor's TARDIS noted that a "Great Cyber War" took place in the 51st century, involving the Cyberium and the Alliance. (PROSE: The Monster Vault [+]Loading...["The Monster Vault (novel)"]) The Master, a renegade Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey, once lived through this Great Cyber War. He later told Ashad that he had been witness to the "atrocities" afflicted on the Cybermen in this war and even implied that his own people were responsible for at least some of them as he acknowledged that the two species had been enemies and claimed to want to put it right. The Sixth Doctor speculated that there could have been several lost Cyberman fleets which survived the War; he listed the Orion Nebula, Vega System, and Madillon Cluster as possible locations of dormant Cybermen. The Eighth Doctor and Charlotte Pollard visited the Garazone and saw a gold-plated cyber-helmet being sold in the market. From this visit, they became involved in the return of a group of Cybermen who had been hiding in Orion. Gabby Gonzalez, the Tenth Doctor, Cindy Wu, and Anubis once encountered these reenactors.
