Hello Everybody was the first short story exclusively published in the souvenir programme for Doctor Who Live on 8 October 2010 by BBC Worldwide and written by Gareth Roberts, Gary Russell and Philip Murphy.

Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]

In 1843, the Eleventh Doctor writes a letter to the audience of an "electrifying experience", assuring them they will have no need to worry, as while the involvement of the Minimiser and the monsters contained within means danger, he has already lived through the events and saved the day — but remains tight lipped about any other information, as it's a spoiler.

Characters[[edit] | [edit source]]

Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Doctor[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • The Doctor confusingly explains how he is writing about the audience's future while also being something that happened in his past, as well as that he is writing the letter in the audience's past but in his future.¾
  • A week has passed for the Doctor since his involvement.

The Minimiser[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • The Minimiser is "highly" illegal, unethical and thrilling.
  • The Doctor believed that all the Minimisers had been destroyed, so admits that he is wrong due to one remaining.

Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • Oddly enough, this is not the only in-character letter from the Eleventh Doctor to the audience of stage shows; although technically an immersive experience, the short story Hello! • As part of the souvenir programme for STAGE: The Monsters Are Coming! [+]Loading...["The Monsters Are Coming! (stage play)"], this story hints at the narrative of the play to come.
