In Earth mythology, Hephaestus (or Hephaistos) was the god of fire, in the same pantheon with Poseidon and Eros. (TV: Planet of Fire)
During their visit to Greek Space, Iris Wildthyme and Panda saw Hephaistos fixing the plaster on one of the vaulted ceilings of Olympos, under the supervision of a bored-looking Athena. He was a brawny god with a hammer in his tunic belt. (PROSE: Wandering Stars)
